How to fix unresponsive pages and speed up Google Chrome

Google Chrome (and by extension, Google ChromeOS) can sometimes fail to load pages and become generally slow and unresponsive. Clearing the cache will almost certainly solve this problem and is very easy to do.

First off you need to click the spanner in the top right-hand corner of Chrome and select ‘Options’ (This will be ‘Settings’ in ChromeOS).

Next you need to select ‘Under the Hood’ from the left hand side and click the ‘Clear browsing data…’ button at the top centre.

Next uncheck everything except ‘Empty the cache’ and select ‘the beginning of time’ from the drop-down menu then click ‘Clear browsing data’.

Close Google Chrome (or restart your Chromebook) and next time you use it it should load pages correctly and be more responsive.
